While I appreciate the parent's right to raise their children, parents who encounter these questions lack resources to navigate questions of "qualification" effectively. 

There is no professional oversight for most remaining programs (many of which run by well meaning but generally uneducated church ministry leaders). Parents do not realize that professional organizations have deemed these programs harmful.  It is up to the state to ensure the child's well-being - in light of evidence-based policy.

Therefore, conversion therapy should be banned for children - and ultimately for vulnerable adults as well.
