There are more dangerous items, kratom is not dangerous

420 people die annually according to the CDC from salmonella due to consuming chicken. 178,000 people die annually from alcohol. Acetaminophen toxicity is the second most common cause of liver transplantation worldwide and the most common cause of liver transplantation in the US. It is responsible for 56,000 emergency department visits, 2,600 hospitalizations, and 500 deaths per year in the United States.
There are no kids dying from kratom, this is all fear mongering. Ask the American Kratom Association for their research. This is a clearly big pharma push to schedule or ban.
