Kratom should not be a schedule 1

Please do not make Kratom a schedule 1 for Virginia constituents. When any drug falls under this category, it takes away from potential studies that may be done to actually help and potentially cure people. This happened with marijuana and psilocybin for many many years, and now look where we are today. There are facilities specifically made for psilocybin treatments to help with a range of mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, addictions, obsessive compulsive disorder, and psychosis. There is also plenty of studies showing that cannabis has helped with lowering blood pressure, reducing inflammation, preventing relapse in drug and alcohol addiction, treating anxiety disorders, treating gastrointestinal (GI) disorders, preventing seizures, and fighting cancer. This is only the beginning of finding out all of the benefits to drugs that have been treated as if they had no medical benefit whatsoever. It’s inhumane and a bit silly to take away drugs like these that may have potential for those who are truly suffering. Allow doctors and scientists to study these things before scheduling a plant at this level please.
