I support the alignment of Virginia regulations with the Consensus Model for APRN Regulation: LACE. Clinical Nurse Specialists as advanced practice nurses provide expert clinical care while focusing on improving patient care and outcomes through role modeling, expert consultation, collaboration, research,  while providing education to patients, colleagues, and the community, We collaborate with colleagues to optimize the outcomes for  patients, families, and communities. Standardization of the regulation of advanced nursing practice across Virginia and the nation will help bring role clarity as well as provide an environment that allows CNSs to function within the full scope of their education here in the commonwealth.
