No student should be harassed or bullied for any reason and all should be respected and educated regardless of whether I agree with their choices. However, their "rights" should not supersede the rights of those who recognize and adhere to biology. For instance, I should not have to share my bathroom with someone who was a man at birth. I think this issue has gone too far---as much of society has. It has also put an undue burden on educators and school systems. I have no problem working with or teaching those who have made lifestyle choices I disagree with. I do have a problem when I as an educator now have to fear a lawsuit because I forget to call Sally, John, this year. You must also be careful to respect the spiritual rights of those who know that God created male and female. We can accept, teach, and love those who may think differently. We also need to understand that really caring for our young people does not mean we accept every belief and way of thinking. We care about them enough to correct them and lead them in the right direction.
