I'm a 38 year old cis woman that has lived in Virginia since 1998. In my adolescence and adulthood so far, I've NEVER been harassed by a trans man or trans woman or nonbinary person, in the bathroom or the locker room. I have many family members who are on the transgender spectrum. If someone is a bad person that is going to harass people, they're going to do it, regardless of their gender. This petition puts a target on the backs of many minority groups to have physical violence unleashed upon them.

This idea that "trans women" are men who want to harass women in the bathroom, HURTS EVERYONE. I'm a cis woman, meaning I identify with my gender assigned at birth. Without changing anything about my appearance, I appear very masculine to many people. I wasn't blessed with all the girly femininity in my features and body. I've never been harassed by a trans person in the bathroom, ever, in my life. I don't know anyone who has been harassed by a trans person in the bathroom. I DO know LOTS of people who were harassed or touched inappropriately by their religious leaders, pastors, priests, youth group leaders, politicians and family members.

Transgender people just want to pee. That's it. The people making this issue about genitals, and who has what genitals, are the hateful and harassing people. Genital checks or verification on CHILDREN, will only harm them. It will not keep them safe in any way. Genital Verifications in order to use the bathroom by adult people, will be harmful to everyone. Please, literally stop and think for a second. Imagine for example, you're out in public and the need for the restroom arises. But before you can relieve your body, you must first present your genitals to a stranger for visual inspection. NO ONE WANTS THAT.

I'm positive that one of these days, I'll be harassed in the bathroom, by a fellow cis woman, who believes that I'm a trans person based on looks. Family members close to me have already been harassed by cis women and cis men in the bathroom, for looking one way or another. Please don't give in to the hate that these petitioners are trying to normalize. Please vote No on Petition 432.
