Kratom legality

Hello,

I’m from TX so the the legal status of Kratom in Virginia doesn’t really affect me but I wanted to share my story with hopes to help sway the decision towards keeping Kratom legal and regulated in Virginia. In TX we adopted the KCPA ( Kratom consumer protection act which has been wonderful in assuring we get a safe to consume, contaminant free product.
I have supplemented with Kratom for about 5 years and it has absolutely transformed my life for the better. Its effects are very subtle but enough to help with my pain from peripheral neuropathy. It gave me my life back. I own a business And multiple rental properties. Im a father of two beautiful children, which I am very present in their life. I’ve been married for 13 years. Kratom really is a life saver as I’m sure you’ve already heard people say.
It does come with the risk of dependence and can be abused But comes with far far less risk and negative side effects as prescription pain medication.  I believe it needs to be regulated, studied and the correct information given to users in order to educate them on safe use. Please consider keeping this plant legal in the beautiful state of Virginia for it helps so many people.

sincerely,

Austin Copeland
