This is a highly addictive substance that is being sold in very strong extract formulas in gas station and tobacco stores all over Virginia. While people may like it for the same reasons they like opioids, it is possible to get just as addicted to Kratom. When they take it daily and then stop, they get genuinely sick from withdrawals and the symptoms are identical to opioid withdrawal. 

Kratom, unlike marijuana, is very addictive. It causes a host of health problems but is aggressively marketed as a “natural plant just like coffee” that can do no harm. This is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, especially with the unregulated and STRONG extracts/concentrates that people buy for $20 a piece in GAS STATIONS.
