We have seen the effects of this mistake before

Kratom has been used by an enormous amount of people to safely get off of opioids. It has no effect on the central nervous system and no one has ever been in physical injury due to overdose. Making its alkaloids illegal will simply push users onto to the black market, or, more likely, back onto opioids like fentanyl. We need to better regulate the supplement market and allow kratom in it to protect people — NOT outlaw an extremely useful plant.
