This plant has save many lives. The opioid crisis destroyed a lot of families and was exacerbated by the same industry that looks to pass this bill for the same reason. Profit. The companies that created those opioids merely got a slap on the wrist while those small fines they received represent only a portion of the profits made. All while the people affected by the crisis lost love ones. Why are we wasting tax dollars to help a predatory industry make more profits by selling this plant from nature at a mark up most people would not be able to afford. Hopefully lawmakers can uphold the interest of the people and voters instead of the corporate interest that has eroded this countries government.
