As a 60 year old gay man who underwent conversion therapy at 19 I can tell you it did not change my sexuality, it did however feed the self loathing that I felt at being different. I did not want to be gay, I did not chose or decide to be gay, I just simply am gay. This is who iIam and it took me a while to learn to be okay with it. Conversion therapy sends the wrong message and can lead to self loathing and self destructive behaviors.
