Previous legislative attempts to impose this ban have been consistently voted down.  Professional help is available for parents to seek help for children needing assistance with gender identification.  This is a parental role.  Do not take it away from them.  The proposed ban would deny families the right and freedom to seek counseling aligned with their faith.  Licensed professionals with years of education and experience should not be removed form the process of helping children work through these sensitive and deeply personal issues.  Under Virginia law, parents have the fundamental right to make decisions regarding the upbringing, education and care of their children.  Do not attempt to regulate away this right!
