Whatever one's opinions on sex vs gender, how could any fair-minded person disallow counselors to help people with gender disphoria cope with whatever situation they are in their life? Why not just let people choose what kind of counseling they need and want? This does a disservice to the people that are unsure on their gender and almost undoubtedly will lead to higher suicide rates for those that are unsure of what gender they really are and transition one way and then decide later that they either didn't make the right decision because you didn't let them. Banning any discussion of alternative options limits their choices and will likely lead to equally unfair future retaliation if the party in power ever changes hands. Look at what happened with the 'nuclear option' for appointing judges! Now, instead of having consensus drive judicial appointments it has turned into a winner takes all where a minority that gets lucky with a couple votes can destroy decades of settled law. This proposed regulation (at least as it is currently worded) is short-sighted and just plain wrong.
