please keep consumer-direct option

I am a concerned parent and caregiver for my adult disabled dependent. I oppose the plan to shift parents who are paid caregivers away from Consumer Directed to become an employee of an agency.

I have been the primary caregiver to my adult child since birth (29 years), all unpaid hours until 2018 when I was approved to be her paid caregiver. With this experience, I am the best person to care for my child. In this situation, I have not been able to hold a job outside of caring for her because of her specific needs. Even if there was another caregiver, I would not be able to work outside of the home. What other individual would be willing to work for no pay or less than minimum wage with no benefits, 24/7/365? I feel we are helping keep costs down for Medicaid by being a paid parent caregiver. Parent caregivers can provide the consistant attention our children need.

Please give US the choice to keep parents as paid caregivers via Consumer Directed services.
