Concealed Weapon Carry in State Forests

I wish to express my support for the proposed amendment ot Virginia State Forest Regulation 4VAC10-30-170 that would allow holders of Virginia Concealed Carry Permits to carry their concealed weapon in state forests.

As a VA CCP holder I support this amendment for several reasons  -

   1. I see no increased threat to my carrying a concealed weapon in the state forests than I pose in any other location in the state.

  2. If not allowed to carry my concealed weapon in the state forests I would have to either leave my weapon at home while visiting the forests, or store it in my vehicle, exposing it to the risk of theft.

  3. I doubt seriously that the criminal element will abide by a concealed carry restriction (do they ever?).  I would like to be able to defend myself (and others) in the state forests as well as anywhere else that danger threatens.

Please adopt the amendment to include allowing CCP holders to carry their weapon in the state forest.

Thank you.
