It's about time Virginia extended health insurance benefits to same sex partners and to other unmarried couples.  This policy would not only enable Virginia to stay competitive in hiring the best people but it is the right thing to do.  All Virginia citizens pay the same taxes, why shouldn't we receive the same rights?  Is it fair that a couple married for 1 hour is eligible for these benefits but a long term committed same sex couple is not?  Equality under the law necessitates this long overdue change!
