While the language for robotics includes removal for subsequent stocking of pharmacies, the language for carousels appears to reference only product removed for stocking of ADU or patient specific medications within a single facility. Would recommend that carousel technology also be recognized as a technology that could be used in a centralized warehouse model to provide medications that are packaged by ADU for subsequent filling at a spoke facility without subsequent pharmacist check if standards contained within carousel technology regulation are met (BCMA, etc). Thank you,.
Appears to be an excellent opportunity to protect employees and extra safety for patients. In addition to safety and protection for patients and employees, this will streamline and create a more efficient process. I assume measures will be put in place to ensure medications are stocked timely and technology malfunctions can be handled by specific staff to prevent delays in patient care.
To whom it may concern,
The introduction of new technology into medicine and health care is something I view as a positive. The use of RFID technology to improve the accuracy and mitigate medical errors is a positive step that must be taken. RFID technology is a proven technology to help hospital and emergency medical services to provide better care for patients and the saving lives is the ultimate goal of healthcare.
Additionally, the medical carousal seems to be another positive step in the right direction when it comes to ensuring the proper drugs are in stock and being used. The verification check with the use of barcodes will make the process more efficient and overall better.
This regulation should be passed and put into place.
Thank you,
Ryan
