Good evening. I am a PT who is a certified in dry needling. PTs are more than qualified to perform dry needling. IT IS NOT ACUPUNCTURE. We specialize in needling trigger points. PTs are specialists in the musculoskeletal system, and no one can strip that from our profession. We are qualified to palpate and practice manual therapy, as well as prescribe therapeutic exercise regimens for patients who suffer from musculoskeletal and neuromuscular disorders. There is a substantial amount of research that supports PTs to dry needle. I would be more than willing to share this research upon request.
