I understand the goals and procedures at which PTs use dry needling are NOT the same as the goals and reason used by acupuncturists. They are different modalities. This is the similar argument as chiropractors using "rehab" in their clinics. There will always be some overlap in these professions as we are all treating the same human machine. Physical Therapists with proper training and post graduate education should be able to use the modality of dry needling. Physical Therapists and Acupunturists should work together and collaborate, respect the differences as they are not the same.
