im sure these things have been said in previous comments, but I'm reiterating. It is in the best interest of the patient to have someone who has been trained in acupuncture, rather than dry needling, to "needle" them. The body is a very complex and wonderful thing, that should be taken care of. I am not sure what a "dry needling" course teaches, but there are many different contraindications depending on the area of the body, on the type of needling, which in some cases can result in pneumothorax. In fact, most reported cases of this from an acupuncture needle, as it may, are from instances of dry needling rather than acupuncture, which leads me to believe that more training (dare I say acupuncture) is necessary to know how to properly treat the body. When you are allowing practitioners to practice dry needling it "cheapens" the profession of acupuncture and the education we have received. Not training.
