I have been treated with dry needling by my physical therapist on more than one occaision for different issues and both times, once the series was complete, I experienced relief from pain. My physical therapist performed the procedures safely and effectively, that being said, with proper training why shouldn't patients have the option to seek out this effective treatment in their PT's office to complement other therapies being provided? Why does the patient then have to seek out another practitioner for dry needling? It appears acupunturists feel their business is threatened and not considering the benefits to the patient in getting multifaceted treatment from one practitioner.
