How is acceptable to think that Physical Therapists think they can be inserting needles into the human body with NO training. Sorry, 54 hours is barely adequate to learn how to use an acupuncture needle correctly.
Acupuncture is an extremely complex and, if applied incorrectly, can cause a great deal of damage. Physical therapists, though well intentioned, lack the training needed to properly perform acupuncture.
Seriously, this would be a real problem. As a practicing acupuncturist, I have already had to treat several patients that have been traumatized by physical therapists performing "dry needling".
