Transparency IS the key to our gauging shelter performance: donors and municipal funders have a right to this information. I am in support of The No Kill Advocacy Center's petition for a requirement that shelters in the Commonwealth to provide detailed records to the public about the intakes and outcome for each animal in their care. This would not be a hardship for shelters given that shelter software programs already maintain this information (and this software is free to shelters). This wouldn't be a hardhsip for VDACS since a public, online reporting system already exists via VDACS "Annual Shelter Reports".
