I oppose this if the applicant is not required or has not had the core counseling classes that train individuals in the skills of counseling.   My graduate degree is in Counseling Psychology, not Counselor education, or Clinical Psychology, no matter the title of the degree or the program from which it was obtained, one must have course work and internship experience to meet the criteria as a Licensed Professional Counselor.  You must know HOW to do your job.
