Please Board of Counseling in Virginia take a long look at this petition.  A masters in psychology is very different than a master's in counseling.  Counseling is a distinct profession which benefits the communities throughout the state of Virginia. The CACREP programs throughout take great pride in training their students to become counselors that focus on all aspects of the human experience.  A master's degree in psychology has a distinct philosophical approach and often does not focus on counseling clients.

I urge you to oppose this petition.
