If the purpose of this proposal is to address poor-performing providers, I am wondering if all alternatives have been addressed? Is there a level of authority that DMAS needs to be granted that is not currently in place? Services Facilitators help families navigate significant challenges with fiscal agents. Expanding fiscal agents' responsibilities to include Support Brokers raises questions about accountability, service quality, and potential additional barriers for families. Stronger oversight of individual providers should be considered without unnecessarily disrupting the entire service delivery system. If DMAS needs additional authority to remove providers, this is what legislation should focus on, not the complete dismantling of a system. Please preserve current qualified services facilitators in our local communities.
