Other people have expressed more eloquently than me their opposition to the current proposals, and their rationale for it. I will simply say that when it comes to service facilitators, replacing them with service brokers seems that it will create a conflict of interest and remove another layer of personalized support from families who are already isolated and struggling to survive. If all these disabled kids and adults who are losing their community and family supports end up in institutions, who will take care of them? And who will pay for it? It behooves the state to make family caregivers' lives easier instead of removing their supports one by one, voting to decrease already low hours and not to increase already low pay rates. It is shameful how the ones responsible to take care of us are leaving those most vulnerable behind. Shameful.
