I live in Ann Guthmiller, an Oxford house located in Richmond.  I have been here since March 12, 2025 and I can honestly say Oxford House and our community saved my life. Prior to moving into Oxford I put myself through and completed two treatment centers; Ann Guthmiller gave me the correct discipline and held me accountable.  Today, I have a full time job, pay my bills on time and have gained my life back.  Oxford Houses are ran democratically, self-governing and self-supporting under the Oxford House system of operations.  I support rules that keep people safe, but rules that require staff or assume every home is a commercial business would keep Oxford Houses from operating in Virginia; even though research shows our model gets the best results.  Please change those rules and clarify weather houses members are considered the operator.
