I have two adult sons and one daughter-in-law who are currently living in three separate Oxford Houses in Virginia. The Oxford House organization has been a life saver, literally, for these folks. All three have now been clean and sober for between 1 and 4 years, they all have full time jobs and are living healthy and productive lives.
Commercial recovery homes are created for the main goal of creating monetary profits, with a secondary goal of helping people recover and re-enter society. I understand that these types of operations need oversight and business insurance etc. But Oxford House is not for profit, and exists solely for the purpose of helping people recover. My hope is that DBHDS will not develop new rules that adversely affect the good work that Oxford House continues to do nation wide, when their MO has been proven to be effective.
Thank you,
