I fully and enthusiastically support the Board's recognition of PCSAS as an accrediting body for the licensure of clinical psychologists in Virginia. As a graduate of a PCSAS-accredited institution (University of Virginia's clinical psychology doctoral program), I feel well-prepared to provide high-quality care to Virginians struggling with the burden of mental illness. Allowing PCSAS-accredited institutions to be recognized as an accrediting body for clinical psychology licensure will encourage high-quality practitioners and researchers to come to Virginia and practice, which will ultimately increase access to care.
