Description | The Erosion and Sediment Control Regulations specify minimum statewide standards to achieve the effective control of soil erosion, sediment, depoisition and nonagricultural precipitation runoff resulting from land-disturbing activities. The objective is to prevent the degradation of property, stream channels, waters and other natural resources in the Commonwealth. Land disturbing activities include, but are not limited to, clearing, grading, excavation and filling of land. These standards provide the basis for local erosion and sediment control programs adopted pursuant to the Erosion and Sediment and Control Law and also apply to land-disturbing activities carried out by state agencies. |
