| Purpose of the meeting To seek public comment on a draft permit amendment for the University of Virginia to modify the Main Heat Plant. The Main Heat Plant supplies steam and heat to the University of Virginia. It is classified as a major source of air pollution. The proposed amendment to the permit would allow the facility to install three semi-dry scrubbing systems with baghouses instead of two scrubbing systems with baghouses. It would also change the distillate oil heat content requirements, the short-term emissions related to the change in distillate oil heat content, and modify the hourly carbon monoxide emission limits for Boilers 3R and 4R. An informational briefing will be held on October 15, 2007 1/2 hour before the hearing at the same location. The public comment period begins on September 15, 2007 and ends on October 15, 2007. | |
