Purpose of the meeting
A public hearing to receive comments on a draft permit modification for Custom Wood Products, LLC, located in Roanoke. Custom Wood Products, LLC has applied for a new permit allowing it to modify the Aerial Way facility. The facility is a wood cabinet manufacturing facility. It is classified as a major source of air pollution. The maximum annual emissions of air pollutants from the facility under the proposed permit are expected to be: 218.7 tons per year of Volatile Organic Compounds; 7.7 tons per year of particulate matter; and 7.7 tons per year of particulate matter less than 10 microns. The technology that will be used to control the air pollution from the facility is work practice standards in compliance with 40 CFR 63 Subpart JJ for VOC emissions and dry filters for particulate emissions. The estimated effect on air quality near the facility from the proposed project meets all air quality standards. DEQ accepts comments and requests for Board consideration by e-mail, fax or postal mail. All comments and requests must be in writing and be received by DEQ during the comment period. Submittals must include the names, mailing addresses and telephone numbers of the commenter/requester and of all persons represented by the commenter/requester. A request for Board consideration must also include: 1) The reason why Board consideration is requested. 2) A brief, informal statement regarding the nature and extent of the interest of the requester or of those represented by the requestor, including how and to what extent such interest would be directly and adversely affected by the permit. 3) Specific references, where possible, to terms and conditions of the permit with suggested revisions. Board consideration may be granted if public response is significant, based on individual requests for Board consideration, and there are substantial, disputed issues relevant to the permit. The public comment period begins on July 8, 2011 and ends on August 24, 2011. In addition, an informational briefing will be held immediately prior to the public hearing; beginning at 3:00 p.m.
