| Purpose of the meeting A public hearing on an application from Cumberland County Development Company, LLC for a permit to limit air pollution and construct an air pollution source in Cumberland County. The proposed facility is a municipal solid waste landfill. The maximum annual emissions of air pollutants from the facility under the proposed permit are expected to be: 226 tons per year (TPY) of carbon monoxide, 141 TPY of non-methane organic compounds, and 91 TPY of nitrogen oxides. The technology that will be used to control the air pollution from the facility is flaring of the landfill gas. The estimated effect on air quality near the facility from the proposed project complies with all applicable standards. The public comment period begins on December 3, 2008 and ends on January 22, 2009. A public information session will be held prior to the public hearing from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. | |
