| Purpose of the meeting A public hearing to receive comments on an application from Quebecor World Richmond, Inc. to amend their permit to modify and operate a publication rotogravure printing facility. When Quebecor was issued its original permit, this area was classified as a nonattainment area, meaning it had higher levels of air pollution than was allowed by national air quality standards. The proposed amendment to the permit would correct some typographical errors and add additional monitoring requirements. The maximum annual emissions of air pollutants from the facility are expected to be: 1462.9 tons of VOC per year, including 1259.5 tons of toluene; 67.7 tons of Xylene; 13.1 tons of hexane and 26.2 tons of ethyl benzene. No change in local air quality is expected. An informational briefing will be held 1/2 hour before the public hearing (4:00 p.m.) The public comment period begins on August 13, 2008 and closes on September 15, 2008. | |
