| Purpose of the meeting A public hearing to receive comments on an application from Smurfit-Stone Container Enterprises, Inc. for a permit to modify their West Point Facility. The facility is classified as a major source of air pollution. The facility performed a voluntary disclosure of possible carbon monoxide (CO) emissions exceedances they found after installing CO monitors (CEMS) and as a result was issued a Consent Order. Criteria pollutant modeling was completed by the facility which showed they are still in compliance with the national ambient air quality standards (NAAQS) levels. The maximum emissions of air pollutants from the facility are expected to be: 370.0 pounds per hour and 1,576.2 tons per year of CO. There will be no changes to other air pollutants from the facility. The public comment period began on July 30, 2008 and closes on September 3, 2008. | |
