| Purpose of the meeting To obtain public comment on a proposed permit to control emissions of visibility-impairing pollutants from Georgia Pacific Big Island located in Bedford County, Virginia. The facility is subject to Best Available Retrofit Technology (BART), which is required for sources that emit any air pollutant which may reasonably be anticipated to cause or contribute to visibility impairment in any federal Class I (national park) area. If adopted, the Commonwealth intends to submit the permit as a revision to its State Implementation Plan (SIP) in accordance with the requirements of ยง 110(a) of the federal Clean Air Act. A general notice regarding this comment period is currently available at: http://townhall.virginia.gov/L/ViewNotice.cfm?gnid=184 and will appear in the Virginia Register of Regulations on May 26, 2008. The public comment period begins on May 2, 2008 and closes on June 3, 2008. | |
