I am appalled at the way this fascist, intolerant policy would co-opt parental responsibilities and place them in the hands of school bureaucrats, while advancing an agenda that sacrifices the well-being of children.

The policy is not based on science.  Rather, it is forcing a Transgender Religion on everyone.  And the purpose is not to improve the educational experience of all children in Virginia schools, which should be the primary focus of the Virginia Department of Education.

This policy directly violates Section 16 of the Virginia Bill of Rights, which states: "That religion or the duty which we owe to our Creator, and the manner of discharging it, can be directed only by reason and conviction, not by force or violence; and, therefore, all men are equally entitled to the free exercise of religion, according to the dictates of conscience; and that it is the mutual duty of all to practice Christian forbearance, love, and charity towards each other. No man shall be compelled to frequent or support any religious worship, place, or ministry whatsoever, nor shall be enforced, restrained, molested, or burthened in his body or goods, nor shall otherwise suffer on account of his religious opinions or belief; but all men shall be free to profess and by argument to maintain their opinions in matters of religion, and the same shall in nowise diminish, enlarge, or affect their civil capacities..."

The policy directly contradicts the U.S. Constitutional right of freedom of religion because it does not allow for any exceptions based on religious faith or conscience.  In the United States, the government cannot force everyone to adopt a particular religious belief, and the government cannot prohibit the free exercise of religion.

Girls should be protected, not made vulnerable by boys/men who want to use girls' bathrooms, locker rooms, or other facilities.  This policy would make girls vulnerable to sexual predators and cause harm to countless girls across the Commonwealth.

This policy would also destroy girls sports because it would allow boys who "identify" as girls to compete on "girls" sports teams, thereby defying the common-sense intent of Title IX provisions ensuring equal opportunities for both girls and boys in athletics.

THIS POLICY SHOULD BE REJECTED BY THE VDOE.  The government should NOT impose a particular religion on all students/parents which is contrary to science, contrary to the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Virginia, contrary to the U.S. Constitution, would result in HARM TO GIRLS, and would DESTROY GIRLS SPORTS. 

Rather, a reasonable and legal alternative would be for LGBT+ activists to create their own private schools where people could self-select into them.  That would allow LGBT+ people to exercise their freedom of religion without the government imposing a particular religion on everyone.
