im 63 years old and taking care of my severally disabled 28 year older 24 hour a day by myself. My daughter is at high risk for being institutionalized . CDCN takes three to four months to review application and complete background checks for a caregiver. By then the person hired has moved on to another job.
The eve app for caregiver mostly doesn’t work. caregivers are not getting payed on a regular payment schedule and some times are not getting payed at all .
Caregivers have become frustrated and upset causing them no other choice but to quit.. leaving the consumer with out any support to live in their home. then the Care for the consumer by default falls to their elderly parents. Elderly parents are being physically injured by having to physically support the consumer through all needed daily care, walking , eating, bath , mobility support. Again putting the consumer at high risk for institutionalized. The Va Waivers was designed to support the consumer to live in their home in their community. With this added problem EvV . Many consumers have become at higher risk of being put in institution.
Caregiver not being payed . EVV not working . New caregiver unable to work due to CDCN not completing application in a Responsible time” takes 3-4 months “. Elderly parents being injured when having to take over full time care of their severally disabled adult children. Not able to hire a live in caregiver not getting payed on a regular schedule and some weeks not payed at all.” EVV malfunctions quite often “ . CDCN do not respond to payment problems. W-2 are not mailed out. Or W-2 are received by caregiver “Blank” . OR. No federal or state taxes have been deducted causing caregiver to owe money to federal government and or state government. Live in caregiver having to try to remember to use EVV to sign in sometimes in the middle of the night while trying to care for the consumer who is Having a seizure. The list does go on and on .
