The gender that appears on the birth cirtificate should match the chomosome (male or female) that is in every cell of the body of its possessor.  No surgery or hormone treatment can change gender at the cell level.  Making such a choice easier is not compassionate.  The push for gender flexibility and fluidity will not be good for the individual or for society.  There will be unintended consequences no one has even begun to imagine and they will continue to play out over dcades - irreversible and not beneficial.  Please promote policy that recognizes the objective reality of two genders, male and female, instead of paving the way to chaos.
