I fully support NKAC's petition for the regulation of animal shelters in Virginia to effect greater transparency about the acquisition of animals, their treatment and care, and re-homing efforts made on their behalf. It is also necessary that these shelters provide accurate records as to the manner in which any animals are killed, the numbers killed the reasons for killing them, and all pertinent details involving their custody.
I am appalled at PETA's abuse and murder of animals entrusted to their care, or any they have taken possession of without regard to their gardians. They have betrayed the public's trust, vast numbers of their donors, and worse, they have menaced and murdered the defenseless animals it is their purported mission to protect. If PETA can perpetrate these offensess against animals in their care, it is certainly possible for any shelter to do so. Indeed, PETA sets a horrific example.
Thank you for considering this petition.
Virginia can be a shining example in compassionate care for our dear, innocent friends who want nothing but to love and be loved.
Please help us to protect these precious lives and to provide a bettter world for them to live in.
Sincerely
Virginia Elliott
