The new EMS Educator requires the educator to obtain 12 hours of additional education in addition to the 50 hours that are already required to teach in Virginia. This bit extensive since it will be the expense to the educator. Many departments are not able to fund this nor do they allow time off  to comply with this requirement. Another issue I have with this requirement is I have a formal education I have invested in both with my time and money. This will be at my expense and college level training is a huge investment a lot of us have already paid for or are still paying for. I do not foresee people being able to maintain this requirement which will result in loosing quality and experienced educators to pass on their knowledge to others.
