I am writing because I  have had 2 parents loose assets to care because they was no longer eligible for Medicare  because of a 2.00 increase( same medical problems but got a 2.00 increase)  Medicare and Medicad need a rehaul … bills and life don’t stop because your 65 . In this economy it is 0 assistants for anyone across the board and less for  older adults  the fact that Medicaid only look at incoming income is crazy, yes  someone may receive 2000 a month but that’s all they receive to live on   Meaning they have to pay rent which is 1000-1600 a month electric (300.00) gas(150.00) water(100.00) grocery(200.00) because they make too much to get snap and if they do it’s 25.00-65.00. They are forced off  Medicaid  for income that they don’t even get to touch, to  get Medicare
where they take 200 dollars to pay for plan and most of the medications are Otp every doctor and specialist ( if you are blessed to live along enough you gonna have several )  which is 10-50 dollars a visit now keep in mind they only get 2000. This whole process is frustrating  and  both Medicaid and Medicare need an overhaul. If I’m not mistaken isn’t a right to healthcare that’s affordable nothing about Medicare is affordable .
