Commenter: Tired of fighting for basic needs…

We are TIRED.

As a family with an adult daughter with a chromosome disorder & seizure disorder who needs constant supervision and care these proposed “changes” show no benefit to the person who needs support or the families. This will cause major lapses in ability for families to work to care for their child, and create grave danger for the individual when they don’t have a facilitator helping navigate the system. We have worked closely with our support team for a decade and I do believe this has also helped ease the communication between state/county and individuals. Our children are not numbers, they are not a burden. They didn’t chose to be born with the challenges they face. We have to constantly advocate for our kids to be safe and stay in a safe environment at home with their families. This is another stresser for us. There is zero benefit to families or individuals with this proposed change. It makes me wonder how much the people in support of this change will bring in.
