EMS Educator Regualtion

This Unfunded mandate and the additional 2 yr Time requirement to recertify,  and additonal hours is unreasonable and going to create and extreme hardship on our system from Volunteer to Paid Professionals. Were already all having a hard time making ends meet..   Personally I don't have the additional funds nor do most of the agencies anymore due to extreme budget cuts and poor economy . Our folks are threatened with layoffs and were imposing more costs to maintain certification.. Pushing this into the higher education facilities that many can't afford personally or departmentally,  Don't get me wrong not opposed at all to improving the system but this isn't the way to do it.  It will become a great financial burden, difficult to find classes, require us to travel do to the limited access of the type of classes required and time off from our jobs and family. Please rethink this Unfunded mandate and the  requirements.  No other agency  requires this why us .  Then the testing whos going to validate it. We just got out of that business with entry level certificaiton because of the cost of validating tests . and now were going to add more testing.  i really don't understand  .  I strongly feel this mandate/regulation is a great hardship and un-necessary. We need to re think this one.  Thank you for the opportunicy to comment.
