As someone with active service in EMS reaching back into the 1990s, I have come to appreciate the value of effective self-defense, especially in rural areas with extended police response.  I urge the removal of the EMS weapons ban, as this matter is better-handled by the Commonwealth's existing laws on the carrying and transportation of weapons, and the policies and procedures of individual fire/rescue compaines.
