I strongly disagree with this petition. There is no scientific evidence to push these boats out of the Chesapeake Bay. I have fished for menhaden as a 2 nd generation fishermen and understand how the fish migrate in and out of the Bay. With over 43 years experience in this industry I have seen more fish in the Bay than ever before. Just because we don’t catch them doesn’t mean that they are not there. We have more regulations on us now than ever before. The state of Va. should be proud of this industry that has been supporting the local and state businesses and communities for well over 160 years. The people that work at the Reedville plant are mostly Va residents with the exception of about 3-4 from NC.
