I am a woman ("cisgender" female) and this petition does not protect me. I am a swimmer and I do not care if there are transsexual people in the same locker room as me, or playing in sports with me (so long as they are engaged in hormone replacement therapy). It does not make me feel better that some women can be excluded from these aspects of life.
Where do we draw the line? Does my strong jawline and broad swimmer shoulders make me too "manly"? How will we prove I am a woman, will there be genital inspections in the locker rooms? What if my genitals look "transsexual" or "fake"? What if I had to have my body surgically reconstructed after an accident, and it was presumed that I was transsexual? There is no basis to uphold these trans bans and I will always support my fellow women, regardless of where they come from or who they have been.
