I am writing to strongly oppose this proposed legislation. This anti-trans sports ban and restriction does nothing to actually “protect girl’s rights” or to address the actual and ongoing gender inequities in athletics. There is no evidence or data that shows permitting transgender and intersex youth to play in sports teams aligned with their gender identity harms anyone. This bill further codifies sexist stereotypes of how girls should look and act, further increasing sex-based discrimination. Let all kids play. I urge members to oppose this discriminatory and dangerous bill.
