I live in downtown Richmond, and I oppose this petition. 

Trans rights are human rights, to deny children the right to participate in sport simply for how they identify is not a fair decision to make. A child’s identity should not be regulated by their governing body when they are simply learning and expressing themselves in a way that does not harm others. To be hateful to these children show you believe they have no right. These are children we are speaking of, children who life every day in fear they will be a target of hate, violence, and discrimination. Moving forward with this bill is something I and many members of our community will not stand for. Children should be allowed to learn and explore themselves in a country governed by people with their best interest in mind. To deny them this ideal country we so claim to be is a bold faced lie that is unfair and unconstitutional. I as a community member am against this bill and urge you to reconsider the decision to forward this petition.
